Wittle Monkeys Daycare is a licensed Family Group Child Care. Our license compacity is 12 children ages 6 wks - 12 yrs. We are also approved to provide childcare for Foster Children through NH DCYF. 

 

 

Mission Statement
The mission of Wittle Monkeys Daycare is to educate children intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially by recognizing individual differences, promoting self-esteem, and fostering respect for others. Our child-centered environment encourages dialogue among participants, essential to the active learning process. We strive to develop an educational partnership among family, Wittle Monkeys and community that works together to maximize the potential of each child.

 

 

 

Circle Time
We have Circle Time every day. We begin by singing ‘Hello’ to the children.

Next is Story Time - we read our favorite stories, making sure we read something for the oldest and youngest members of our group. There is a large and varied collection of books.

After stories we sing songs. Each child chooses a song they like and we sing it as a group. We also do lots of action songs!

During Circle Time we discuss the day and ask the children what they would like to do. We also encourage the children to share their thoughts and feelings with us.

Free Play
The children choose from a variety of resources, including role play equipment, puzzles, a wide range of books, shape sorters, small world such as dolls house, zoo animals etc.

Messy Play
The children love getting messy! They love water play, dry pasta play, digging in the sand,playing with shaving cream,frosting, and so much more!.

 

Music
All the children love music. We do regular dancing and instrument sessions. We also listen to lots of varied music while we play, including classical, world music and music for children.

Art
The children love making things. We do regular drawing, sticking, painting and modelling activities. We focus on a number of different themes through the year to ensure variety!

 

Teaching Philosophy:

Children learn through play. Through play they explore their environment, learn to deal with problems, and learn to work within a group.

Children learn through doing. Our classroom is open to exploring a variety of activities and situations where children can make decisions and choices on their own.

Children learn at their own pace. Children are all different and we should embrace and celebrate their unique skills and talents.

Children learn through observing. We are their role models. It is important that we listen to their thoughts and feelings and help guide them along the way.
